The Lower Face Lift

  • Options abound for reclaiming and enhancing a youthful appearance.  When facial features include sagging cheeks, deep creases, jowls and neck folds, the lower face lift works best.

  • The trend in lower face lifts is toward quicker and less invasive operations with a shortened recovery period.

  • The cheek and neck are the primary focus of the lower face lift and it provides great improvement in appearance.  The procedure uses short incisions, limited undermining, and tightening of deep layers with sutures.

  • This surgery can be done under local anesthesia with IV sedation in a setting in our outpatient surgery center.

  • The lower face lift surgery is less expensive than a traditional operation.  Other procedures such as blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and brow lift can also be added.

  • As with any surgery, there are risks and potential complications.  Decisions regarding these operations are best made in consultation with a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

  • The correct procedure at the right time can make a significant contribution to a youthful appearance and a sense of well being.
